OpenTX Reference Guide 21 – SD Card

This screen displays the contents of the SD card.

Note that selecting the symbol ‘[]’ returns the display to the parent folder.

 

Folder

DESCRIPTION

BMP

The model images are 64x32 pixels, 4 bit greyscale files.

Highlighting a file displays the file image. These files are used when the ‘Model Image’ is selected in the Model Setup screen.

EEPROMS

When a backup of the EEPROM is created, it stored in this folder.

The format of each file name is ‘eeprom-yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm-ss.bin’.

Refer to the Version screen for details on how to backup the EEPROM.

FIRMWARES

When a firmware binary file is downloaded from Companion, this folder is where it should be stored. Firmware filenames have up to 28 characters with a .bin extension.

LOGS

This folder is where logs of telemetry data are saved.

The filename format is  ‘Modelname-yyyy-mm-dd.csv.

Logs are created when enabled by the SD Logs parameter in the Special Functions screen.

MODELS

When a model is backed up in the Model Selection screen, the model file is copied from EEPROM to this folder. Also, when a model is restored in the Model Selection screen, the model file is copied from this folder into EEPROM.

The filename format is ‘Modelname-yyyy-mm-dd.bin’

Text files are displayed when a model is selected and normally contain model specific information. Text files can be created elsewhere and transferred to this folder. The text file filename format is ‘Modelname.txt’. (No blanks allowed in the file name.)  Lines in text files can be up to 35 characters long. The number of lines is only limited by memory!

SCRIPTS

This folder is where Lua scripts are stored.

SOUNDS

The [en] folder contains the English sounds.

The SYSTEM folder contains wav files used by the OpenTX system.

The SOUNDS folder contains wav files for use by the pilot.

To play or delete a wav file, highlight it using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ keys, then press ENT to display a popup menu. Select Play and press ENT to play the file. Select Delete and press ENT to delete the file. Press EXIT to remove popup.

Other language folders can be downloaded using Companion. They should be stored in the SOUNDS folder. To select a new language, refer to the Radio Setup screen ‘Voice Language’ parameter.

Wav files can be added to this folder for use by Special Function features Play Track and Bg Music.

Wav files must be mono, 32000 Hz.

If you wish to play a different sound for any of these system events, create a wav file with same name as the one you wish to replace, remove the existing file from this SYSTEM folder (store it somewhere safe in case you need it later) and put in the new one.

For example, replace the tada.wav file with your own version to greet you when you turn the radio on.
