Model Memory

Model information is stored in EEPROM memory. The amount of memory (in bytes) used by each model is displayed next to the model name.

The amount of EEPROM memory not yet allocated to model data is displayed in the message ‘nnnnn bytes free’.

Model information can be backed up on the SD card and restored from the SD card.

New Model Options

Create Model

To create a new model, first highlight the required model number using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. Press ENT LP and select from the menu ‘Create Model’. After a brief message ‘Loading model ..’, four aircraft type icons are displayed.

 

 

The default type as shown is aeroplane. Select the aircraft type using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. Press ENT to start the new model wizard for your aircraft.

Restore Model

To restore a model stored on EEPROM, first highlight the required model number to restore the model to using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. Press ENT LP and select from the menu ‘Restore Model’. Select the required model number from the list using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons and press ENT.

Existing Model Options

Select Model

To set a model as the current model, first highlight the required model number using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. Press ENT LP and select from the menu ‘Select Model’. An asterisk (*) indicates the currently selected model. Once a model is selected, the Page button selects consecutive screens containing parameters for the current model.

Backup Model

To copy a model from EEPROM to the SD card, first highlight the model number of the model you wish to store using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. Press ENT LP and select from the menu ‘Backup Model’. Press ENT and the model information is stored in the ‘Models’ folder of the SD card. The name of the stored file has the current date attached to it. The filename has the form ‘Modelname-yyyy-mm-dd’.

To read a stored model from the SD card back into EEPROM, see Restore Model.

Copy Model

To copy a model, first highlight the required model number using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. Press ENT LP and select from the menu ‘Copy Model’. The popup menu disappears. Now use the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons.to select the model number to copy the model to. When the required number is selected, press ENT to complete the copy.

Move Model

A model can be moved up and down the list, giving it a different number.

First, use the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons to highlight the model you wish to move. ENT LP displays a pop up menu. From the menu select ‘Move Model’. The highlighted model is then displayed surrounded by a dotted box. The ‘+’ button swaps this model with the one above. The ‘-‘ button swaps this model with the one below. When the model is in the required position, press the ENT button to complete the procedure.

Delete Model

To delete a model from EEPROM, first highlight the required model number to delete using the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons. Press ENT LP and select from the menu ‘Delete Model’. Press ENT and a confirmation pop up window is displayed. Press ENT to complete the deletion or EXIT to cancel the deletion.

Note that this does not delete a model from the SD card.
